EU Fundraising Academy

Fundraising in a time of disruption

June 12 2026, 09:00 – 17:30

Brussels, Mundo Madou

About this event

EUChanger trainings aim to empower public interest organisations and activists to rebalance power in EU decision-making in favour of the public interest. This includes strengthening their fundraising capacity to mobilise adequate and sustainable resources. The EU Fundraising Academy is designed for professionals who want to deepen their understanding of what effective fundraising for public interest organisations looks like amid political pressure, shrinking civic space, and an increasingly volatile funding landscape. It aims to strengthen participants’ ability to deliver strategic, future-proof fundraising, secure sustainable funding, and respond confidently to new realities — through the latest evidence-based data and insights, practical guidance, targeted context-specific advice, and opportunities to engage with fundraising experts and peers within the ecosystem.

Who is this training for?

This training is particularly suited for:

  • Fundraisers and development professionals at beginner or intermediate level who want to advance fundraising through a strategic approach, secure funding effectively, and achieve greater impact in a rapidly evolving and highly competitive resource landscape.

  • Experienced fundraisers looking to explore previously untapped funding streams or fundraising methods, sharpen existing skills, understand emerging trends, and gain new perspectives while benchmarking their approaches through peer exchange with other organisations.

  • Anyone responsible for securing funding and/or working with donors in public interest organisations of all sizes — including executive directors, senior team leaders without a fundraising background who oversee resource mobilisation, board members, project and finance managers, and volunteers.

What will you get out of the training?

This training provides:

  • Trend analysis: insight into the trends shaping the European and global funding landscape and their implications for European CSOs.

  • Strategic planning: understanding of how long-term strategic finance and fundraising planning work together to strengthen organisational financial health, resilience, and sustainability.

  • Income diversification: enhanced knowledge of strategic approaches to diversifying income across all major donor types (including EU institutions), alongside exploration of alternative and innovative funding sources and a redefinition of how fundraising operates.

  • Practical undraising guidance: strengthened fundraising knowledge, skills, and practice to secure funding confidently while safeguarding organisational mission integrity and credibility.

  • Success stories: showcasing the best practices from forward-thinking CSOs that have successfully navigated funding and fundraising trends, embraced innovation, and redefined their approaches to resource mobilisation.

  • Holistic fundraising approach: strategies for embedding a strong culture of philanthropy within organisations, positioning fundraising as a collective responsibility.

  • Fundraising for difficult causes: capacity-building for fundraising in complex or politically sensitive contexts, moving beyond transactional approaches, remaining responsive to emerging trends, and sustaining agility while preventing compassion fatigue and fundraising burnout.

  • Comprehensive resource & tools package: Including analyses and studies, data-driven insights, fundraising toolkits and step-by-step guidance for planning and implementing fundraising activities, as well as checklists, templates, and other learning materials.
