EU Academy
EUChanger’s EU Academy is a programme of trainings for public interest advocates with an interest in EU policies and legislation. Our trainings focus on the essentials of EU decision-making, advocacy communication and fundraising.
A hands-on training
Our trainings are interactive, thought-provoking, and practical. They combine presentations, hands-on exercises, and conversations with insiders. Our trainers bring many years of experience and give equal importance to sharing knowledge and expertise, as well as fostering motivation and inspiration.
We welcome both beginners and experienced participants from across Europe, working in a wide range of policy areas—including climate, environment, human rights, migration, finance, development, humanitarian affairs, criminal justice, and more.
EU advocacy academy: This training is designed to strengthen public interest advocates' understanding of EU decision-making processes and sharpen their influencing skills. It covers the functioning of key EU institutions, the fundamentals of EU decision-making, core influencing techniques, and practical tools for effective advocacy. The EU advocacy academy takes place twice a year in Brussels, in the Spring and in the Autumn.
EU communications academy: This training aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities in public interest communications and media relations at the EU level. It provides fresh insights into the realities of policy and advocacy communications, and gives practical advice for communications that cut-through. The EU communications academy takes place twice a year in Brussels, in the Winter and the Summer.
EU fundraising academy: This training offers a practical exploration into how organisations can adapt their fundraising to the current volatile funding environment marked by polarisation, shrinking civic space and shifting donor priorities. It unpacks current trends in the funding landscape, maps opportunities and risks for public interest organisations and puts forward a strategic approach to securing and sustaining funding while staying true to organisational missions and values.
The EU Academy in your country? To make the EU Academy more accessible to public-interest organisations, we partner with organisations across Europe to organise the EU Academy outside Brussels. We tailor the content to the specific needs of local organisations. Would you be interested in exploring the possibility of organising the EU Academy in your country? Get in touch!
